Rapiscan Eag|e G45

The Rapiscan Eag|e® G45 (“Eagle G45”) is a member of Rapiscan’s G—Series of high—energy X—ray rail-mounted gantry inspection systems for rapid, automated scanning of vehicles and cargo. It is well-suited to cargo screening at entrances to critical facilities, as well as border crossings and seaports. The X-ray generator and X-ray detector array are mounted on an electric-powered gantry that runs on rails. The system automatically scans unoccupied vehicles or containers parked between the rails. The gantry is remotely controlled from a nearby office, where the X-ray images are sent for examination and evaluation. The Eagle G45 is designed for automated operation by a minimum number of personnel. In applications requiring higher throughput, the Eagle G45 can be operated in the optional drive—thru portal or drive—thru CabScan modes. The resulting X—ray images are sent to a nearby office for review and evaluation.

The Eagle G45 has a 4.5 MV X—ray imaging system that enables inspection of dense cargo, verification of manifests and identification of contraband, such as explosives, weapons and narcotics. Optional capabilities to help find low density contraband and radioactive material in cargo are available with the Eagle G45. The nonintrusive inspection capability using high-quality X-ray images and Rapiscan Cargo Viewer software reduces the need for subsequent manual inspection.

The Eagle G45 facility consists of the gantry, which supports the X-ray generator and detector array, the rails and the containerized offices. Radiation shielding walls or a weatherproof building can be optionally added. The Eagle G45 is designed for easy relocation.

The Eagle G45 has a unique combination of features:

  • 0 A 4.5 MV X-ray imaging system. The Eagle G45’s 4.5 MV X—ray imaging system penetrates and creates an image of dense and dense|y—packed cargo, which would otherwise have to be manually inspected.
  • Multiple scanning modes. The multiple scanning modes available with the Eagle G45 provide the flexibility to respond to changing operational requirements. When high throughput is needed, the Eagle G45’s optional drive—thru scan modes automatically scan the cargo and, if required, the driver cab as trucks drive through the stationary gantry.
