Rapiscan Veds Portal

CARGO AND VEHICLE INSPECTION
Material Specific Detection
Automatic Decision
Remote Sensing of Threats
Relocatable

Rapiscan VEDSTM Portal is designed for choke—polnt inspection of vehicles entering a sensitive facility such as government buildings, military bases or ports. Operation is simple and requires minimal training. Decision processes are fully automatic and the location of the suspect threat is indicated on a digital image of the inspected vehicle. The automatic decision “clear” or “alarm” are obtained visually and/or via an audio message immediately after each scan is completed. The Rapiscan VEDSTM Portal can be set by the operator to perform either continuous (“sweep") or detailed (“spot”) scans.

Rapiscan VEDS“" Portal is supplied with either a radioactive neutron source (RNS) or electronic neutron generator (ENG). RSN offers high reliability and lower cost, whereas an ENG offers the convenience of complete shut down when not in use. ENG based systems can be used in a two—sided configuration to increase the throughput of inspection vehicles.

Rapiscan VEDSTM Portal is deployed on easily adjustable tracks that can be installed on a variety of surfaces. Rapiscan VEDSTM Portal robust design allows for operation in a wide range of environmental conditions. The operator station can be located well away from the inspection zone to insure the safety of the operator from vehicle bomb detonation during inspection.

Rapiscan VEDSTM Portal can be interfaced to the Rapiscan Systems Eagle® or GaRDS radiography products. This combined technology provides a high performance, integrated solution that meets customers inspection needs.
