The Rapiscan Eagle G6000 Series is a family of cargo inspection systems that incorporate proven high-energy X—ray imaging technology in a rai|—mounted gantry configuration. These products are capable of rapid, automated scanning of dense cargo and vehicles. Units are available with a 6 MV linear accelerator X—ray source delivering up to 400 mm of steel penetration or with an optional dual—energy source. The X-ray source and detectors are mounted on an electric-powered gantry that runs on rails. The system automatically scans unoccupied vehicles parked between the rails as the gantry moves over them. The length of the rails determines the number of vehicles that can be scanned in a single pass. The gantry is remotely controlled from a nearby control room, where the X-ray images are sent for examination and evaluation. The Rapiscan Eagle G6000 Series products are designed for automated operation by a minimum number of personnel. Therefore, they are well-suited to cargo screening at entrances to critical facilities and border crossings, as well as seaports. The units can also be readily disassembled and shipped to another location, requiring only that a set of rails be laid at the new site.
