The Rapiscan Threat Image Projection (TIP) is a software-based training and monitoring technology designed to

improve operator alertness and evaluate performance by inserting digital fictional threat images (FTI)—such as guns, knives, and bombs—into the regular flow of X-ray images on Rapiscan 600 series systems. It is widely used in aviation security to comply with regulatory requirements.
